Desert Mountain

Desert Mountain School is home of the Blackhawks and open to pre-K through 8th grade. Desert Mountain was selected as an A+ School of Excellence by the Arizona Education Foundation in 2020. They offer a Before and After School Care program for families to have the opportunity to extend their child’s learning and development beyond the school day. In this program they offer homework assistance, literacy, organized play indoors and out, crafts, STEM, and access to optional afterschool enrichment classes. Desert Mountain School focuses on both I.Q. (Intellectual Quotient) and E.Q. (Emotional Quotient). Adding E.Q. to their educational program consists of positive weekly messages, because they believe that while I.Q. skills are important, they are not enough. Stepping Stones Academy

Stepping Stones Academy is a charter school for pre-k through 8th grade. One thing that separates Stepping Stones from other schools in the area is their student-operated miniature society. Here students are able to apply basic academic skills towards learning how to successfully function within the community as a productive member of society. Within the miniature of society there is a democratic government system, court system, safety monitors, warehouse, post office, commerce department, bank, and several entrepreneurial businesses. Students will learn how to complete resumes, job applications, interview for jobs, get hired, attend work, pay taxes, write and vote on laws, open a checking and savings account, and how to keep business records like payroll ledgers and expense sheets. Ridgeline Academy

Ridgeline Academy is a private charter school and home of the Eagles. They offer grades K-12 with two different campuses. The Junior High and High School campus is currently at a temporary location as the new, state-of-the-art, campus is being built just less than a mile from the K-6 campus. Ridgeline Academy has been A rated for six years running now. Sunset Ridge

Sunset Ridge is a public school for students’ Pre-K through 8th grade. They are the home of the Hawks and is an A-rated school. Along with Arizona Common Core curriculum, teachers here also follow other state set curriculum standards for each subject matter. They offer before and after school care ran through the DVUSD Community Education Department for students ages 5-14 years old. Sunset Ridge School offers several different athletics for students in 7th and 8th grade. There are 4 Hawk bands: 5th grade Beginning, 6th grade Advanced, concert, and symphonic band. Other activities offered at Sunset Ridge are, but not limited to morning chorus for 3rd – 5th graders, 6th grade Treble Choir, middle school concert choirs, soaring sounds show choir, National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), and DVEF Battle of the Books.
